Christian Falsnaes presents the performance beyond the parental watch is danger to the infant. Beyond the threshold is darkness. Beyond the security of socal affirmation is the adventure of art. In his works – performances, installations and paintings – Christian Falsnaes scrutinizes our relationship and our behaviour in relation to and within public space. In the process, he uses different formal languages that range from Graffiti and Hip Hop to video games and Karaoke, up to Action Painting.

Sound Tossing is an alternative type of street art that uses sound as a medium of creative expression in a public space. As the streets belong to the people, the intention is to appeal to anyone who wants to shape their acoustic space. While street art has a rich history in terms of the formation of the urban landscape, mainly through the appropriation of wall space, Sound Tossing offers a way to play with urban aesthetics through filling space with unique acoustic input. It provides new ways of adding meaning to public spaces.
The work is a continuation of a process that started in 2009. A process that spans from de-contextualizations of paradigmatic forms of representations in electro-acoustic experimental and popular music genres, to modifications of the causalities in the field of space, time and sound in the context of audiovisual media, to the production of objects and assemblages.
TORTURE CLASSICS (TC) combines the clandestine world of military torture and special sonic interrogation techniques (music torture) with the megalomania of the global music-business. The use of music torture has been confirmed by government officials, human rights organizations, prison guards and interrogators, as well as suspected terrorists who have been detained in military prisons and detention centers. The UN and the European Court of Human Rights have banned the use of loud music in interrogations.
